The Dauphin Hospital Foundation wishes to formally recognize a bequest from the estate of Anne Stewart. Mrs. Stewart passed away on January 23, 2021 and left the Foundation $100,000. This was on top of a $15,000 donation Anne personally made to the Foundation in 2020 in memory of her husband Peter. Dauphin Hospital Foundation Chairman Greg Thompson indicated the Board remains truly touched by this act of generosity.

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation was pleased to recently receive a generous donation from the Royal Canadian Legion Dauphin Branch #20 Poppy Fund just prior to Remembrance Day.  The donation, in the amount of $8,650 will be used to purchase three specialized wheelchairs for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.

Telehealth at the Dauphin site is nothing short of exciting! There has been a large increase in activity at this telehealth site with an ever-growing list of clinical applications, including consultations with specialist providers, increased attendance at educational sessions by public and health professionals and use of the link for administrative meetings.

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation was pleased to recently contribute towards the purchase of two new pieces of medical equipment for Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC) totaling nearly $61,000.

A new portable ultrasound machine and associated equipment was secured at a cost of nearly $54,000. Pictured with the new diagnostic unit are Clinical Resource Nurse Kristen Mallet and Dr. Scott Kish.

The 4^th annual Memorial Ride, which took place August 14^th, raised $2,700 for equipment needs at Dauphin Regional Health Centre.  This year, the ride —organized by JDS Laundromat and Tony’s Auto & Electric— was dedicated to all the lost souls from Residential Schools.

Some 75 motorcycle enthusiasts and representatives from the Dauphin Car Club participated this year. The Ride covered about 230 kilometres and took participants on a scenic route through Kelwood, Neepawa, Minnedosa and Riding Mountain National Park.

As part of National Volunteer Week (April 19-25) the Dauphin Hospital Foundation (DHF) is proud to acknowledge its volunteer Board members that continue to actively support and promote projects, initiatives and specific requests that benefit the Dauphin Regional Health Centre and Dauphin Personal Care Home.

The Dauphin Regional Health Centre’s Palliative Care Unit recently received another substantial boost thanks to a very generous donation from an amazing lady.  Ann Stewart has donated $15,000 to the Dauphin Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Fund, in memory of her late husband Peter Stewart

The Dauphin Regional Health Centre Palliative Care Redevelopment Project has once again received a boost from Cargill Limited and additional backing from Corteva Agriscience. Thanks to their efforts, and support from local farmers for purchasing Corteva’s product, a $2,500 donation was made back to this very important health-care project for the region.

The Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC) recently received a generous contribution that will assist the hospital’s maternity unit. The Compassionate Friends of South Western Manitoba donated just over $4,000 to the Dauphin Hospital Foundation that went towards the purchase of a Cuddle Cot.

The Cuddle Cot is a cooling device that is placed in a baby bassinet. It will enable parents who have suffered the loss of a baby, to have more time to grieve and say goodbye to their loved one.

The Dauphin and District Shrine Club has made a significant contribution towards children’s care at Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC).  The Shrine Club contributed close to $6,000, via the Dauphin Hospital Foundation, that helped purchase a Broselow Pediatric Emergency Cart and related support equipment.   The Broselow Cart is a colour-coded system for children (infant to 12).  Its key features allow for quick access to correct sizes of medical equipment in the event of an emergency.
